THE FORTIFIED VILLAGE
A nice walk among the chestnut trees, maybe gathering wild strawberries along the path or chestnuts in autumn, it is a time travel which brings you from the beginning of life to the Metal Age.

Going up the hill you reach a fortified village built, as 3.000 years ago, for a defensive purpose against populations who continually passed through the valley. A fence, a watchtower and solid stone buildings made the fortified village a protected and sheltered place in the woods and its elevated position facilitated the sighting of the enemy from afar.

The fortified villages were built from the Bronze Age and lasted until the end of Metal Age.
